Best location ever! Everything was so decorated cutely as well as the layout. Bathrooms are available and connected to the office building. The owners are very polite, kind and understanding if you have any questions then just give them a call or leave a message. My campsite was as close to the beach as possible. I think site #53. It had a bench, fire pit and parking lot. The view of the ocean, stars, moon and thundering waves was breathtaking. My tent was put on the ground facing the ocean and I noticed after a while that there were these small little crabs or crustaceans climbing on the tent they would fall off while climbing and didn’t do anything but just a warning to zip up tents. I woke up in the middle of the night to a walrus making noises and I could see it about 30 feet away from me. I woke up in the morning to the walrus laying on the sand which was awesome. Make sure you look at the prices of the campsites because they can get pricy, if you drop in the cost is lower.
A wonderful place and lovely nature. Me and my wife was staying here a couple of nights in our car when we made an US-roadtrip last year. Super friendly staff and cheap. I think we we paid 20 $. Totally worth it. Beautiful beach. One of The best things we experienced. Sitting at The beach and watching stars late at night.
I love this place, it has a dog friendly beach, rv camping, day use areas, clean restrooms. The people who run it are super nice, and there's a neat trail up to the stores and restaurants right before it :)
I found Anchor Bay via google maps when I was searching for a last minute dog friendly camp site. After leaving a message I quickly received a call back from Tracy. She was detailed, warm and welcoming and had us booked in no time.
We have now stayed at Anchor Bay multiple times every summer for the last three years and refer to it as our Happy Place!
Pros:
Fantastic friendly service -
We LOVE Chris & Tracy
Clean
Quiet
RIGHT on the beach
Dog friendly
Everyone is in a good mood on the beach so we’ve always been able to make friends with our neighbors - never any drama
Walking distance to a great general store and fantastic Thai restaurant
The views and wildlife are amazing- we’ve seen dolphins and sea lions every trip
Cons:
It can be a little windy (I’m sure Chris & Tracy would control the weather for us if they could 😂)
Make sure to book early if you want a sea wall site!
That’s it! If you are a friendly happy camper like us, you are in for a treat!!
Such an awesome gem. Family owned . Quaint and older but has everything you need . Hot showers , friendly staff and hook ups. Coin Laundry is just a short walk into "town". You will need to call in for reservations
Beautiful setting under the Redwoods. Beach Access was at the end of the campground. Very friendly people and easy check in.
Great views, nice beach to walk, little town to resupply, price seems comparable to campgrounds in area, only con was sites being so close together(which promotes socializing so not all bad) one group next to me was a little loud but apologized in the morning. Stayed one day/night on a Monday in august with no reservation, make sure you stop at the stop sign before checking in. I had a tent and was lucky a beach site was available. Tracy was very helpful and kind.
Took my 36 ft Diesel Pusher Motorhome there to use their dump station. It was a very tight area and the gentleman that guided me was awesome. Very nice guy! Nice park!
